With kids the study table not only serves as a platform for reading and dong their homework, it also doubles up as a storage space for them to gather their books, toys and other such stuff.

Since half of the work is already complete, let us now learn how you can effectively set up that study table for kids you recently bought.

  • Place the study table away from the regular distracting sources like television sets, open windows overlooking playgrounds or from the living room if you are frequently visited by guests to help your child focus clearly on the work in front of him at the table.

  • Ensure you put optimal lighting at the table either in the form of natural light, room lighting or by installing a table lamp to help them read and write clearly. Use softer tones of lights for calm effects like white LEDs and try to minimise or completely avoid the use of harsh incandescent light bulbs around the work station to reduce unnecessary eye strain.
  • If you thoroughly followed our instructions in the last post, you might have purchased a piece with an electrical outlet to install desktops and accommodate wirings for laptop chargers and table lamps. Include a PC and internet connection if your child uses web for his/her studies.
