- The first thing that you need to do is fix the colour of the room. There is no need to associate gender biasness with colour and hence go for shades other than pink and blue. Go for neutral ones like beige or even a light shade of green and yellow. Always make sure that you go for something that is light since then the room will have more light and look more spacious as well.
- The next thing that you will need for your toddler is a cot. The sides of the cot have to be long enough so that the kid cannot climb out of it. The cot should be baby proofed in order to minimise the chances of accidents or sudden knocks and bruises. The cot will eventually have to be replaced with a bed and so, you need to make sure that there is enough space in the room that a single bed can be accommodated in it after removing the cot.
- With the colour and the bed and cot in order, next comes study table. In the case, of a new born it is best to not go for study tables, but instead for the likes of it. If you search online, then you will get small Activity Tables & Chair sets of various shapes, sizes and colours, and you can introduce the concept of activity tables to your little one before imposing the weight of a study table in the room. Place the set in a corner, which can then be replaced by a study table, preferably one with an adjustable height, after your kid becomes 4 or 5 years old.
- There should be at least a basket full of soft toys in your kid’s room. These squishy little things actually act as caregivers to children who have to spend a lot of time away from their parents and they also help in developing a caring feeling in the child as well.
- Make sure that there is a closet or a chest of drawers in the room where you can keep the child’s clothes. This will help in maintaining hygiene and also keeping an organised check on your child’s clothing.
